Delete account
You can delete your account yourself at any time: in the app, or here by email if you can no longer sign in. Both do exactly the same thing.
What happens
- As soon as you confirm, your account is disabled at once. You receive no more alerts, neighbours no longer see you as a neighbour nearby, and any running SOS alert is ended.
- 90 days later we delete your account and your personal data for good. We keep that period so that abuse can be checked. Alerts you were part of keep their own periods — messages 90 days, the alert itself a year — without your name attached.
- If you sign in to the app within those 90 days, you see a page that lets you re-enable your account. After that it is no longer possible.
In the app
- Open VeiligSamen and tap Menu at the bottom right; the menu slides up.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. You see the date your data will be deleted, and you are signed out.
By email
Cannot sign in any more? Enter your account's email address. You will get an email with a confirmation link; your account is only disabled once you click it.
